Can i instal Windows Mobile 2006 into mi Dell X50v??? and cand make that withouto touch de rom??

WM5 is the highest available (and it only works so-so). And the only way to upgrade a Pocket PC's operating system is to reflash the ROM.

Works excelent... compared to itself.
Compared with any X50(v) with WM2003 is still very slow responsive

The only chance of getting WM6 on the X50v or even the X51v is if those ROM hackers can somehow get a WM6 ROM to work. Dell certainly isn't going to release an update, and probably still wouldn't even if they still had the Axim line going.

As for WM5 sluggishness, my X50v is a tad slower than my T|C(Palm OS 5.2)in normal circumstances, which I can put up with. However, the Idle Process CPU hog issue(which may actually be the compaction thread, but my task manager says it isn't filesys.exe, but an "Idle Process")makes things REALLY sluggish.

I'm still debating with myself as to whether I should roll back to WM2003SE A05 or stick with WM5 A02. I just don't want to give up DoomGLES and the lack of the 72-hour rule, though...Ah, what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Hola Afarre, si te anda lenta es por que vi en el video de tu aximizer(felicitaciones por el) como la tenes llena de programas residentes y de cosas visuales que no hacen al la funcion de la ppc, yo estoy muy contento con windows mobile 2005 con el ultimo update, y por eso mismo queria saber si se podia actualizar. pero bueno, evidentemente no, te vuelvo a felicitar por el aximizer, deberias venderlo en forma industrial.

Right, my PDA has several resident programs, if not, what is it good for? :)
But it always have about 28MB of free ram.

I was also very happy how latest rom update improved the speed.
But that was until I had the chance to play with a couple of X50V of some friends (both plenty of programs also )
