But you do need to know the rules so that you know what is acceptable conversation on aximsite.... Everybody needs to know them.. and as said before they agreed to them when they joined.

I don't see a problem with reminding people of them when they seem to have 'forgotten' them.

If anybody breaks those rules, then the mods deal with that... and deal with it very well too.

I opened this thread. I know that www.pda.com contains a lot of warez. However, Footbal has a "Vanilla" version of his ROM. I understand that ROM modification is somehow illegal, but I can't find where Microsoft or Dell lose their money. These companies only thinking about making money to themselves. I think we need to support and respect persons like Footbal who provides some benefit and support to us.

That would be ok if they have released the software as an open version that can be changed by anyone who wishes but at this time they still own the software and for you to decide that you don't like them being profitable wont hold up in this site. It is sort of like you deciding that you don't like the way your Ford Explorer works and coming out with your own Ford Explorer. Where they will lose money is that you won't be buying their new product and you will also cost them money for each person who uses your hacked version and who also won't be buying the new one. I know this sounds like a different scale but the premise is the same. There are lots of other sites that allow this to happen, but not this one and I like it that way because I can pretty much trust whatever I find on this site.

There are liscensed/not free apps included in the Football, installing this ROm circumvents the liscensing, by installing this rom version you are installing hacked versions of PAY ONLY software. ILLEGAL

I also have some concerns (aside from these legal issues) with posting hacked ROM images here. It was one thing to do it on a developer site like XDA, but there are a lot of folks here who know very little about ROM updates. They might see something like this, not realize the risks and load it onto their device, only to end up witha brick.

There is a big difference between this and an official DELL/MS ROM upgrade.

Well said Doug, I am far from an expert as far as software development goes, and as everyone seems to gravitate to the latest and greastest a "NEW" rom could be very misleading. I would hope that Any doubtful or beta software is flagged for new users. HAIL the Mods, for discernment.

Honestly man, how many people do you think read all those rules before joining in? You're talking as if what I posted was really terrible. If it is, why isn't it deleted yet. I've seen worse by other people. Remind? How about "ban" me if you see it necessary, I couldn't care less.

@others, sorry for the off topic.

C'mon Dvmed, we know there are rules in every day life and there are rules here also. Do you think it's a priveledge to post here or a right. Andy was not having a go at you he was stateing a fact, we agree to a certain social standard when we register here and contravening that agreement has concequences, this is not about free speech, it is about not conforming to site rules

C'mon Pedah, you talk it's as if I break the rules all the time. And take a look at that single post I made and see how petty you guys are. If something petty like that is given so much weight in this site then theres no fun posting in here anymore.

p.s. off post again, if you guys want to discuss this with me, discuss it with me in private

Why are we having this discussion? You're beginning to sound like a spoiled child that can't get his own way. The Moderator has made a decision - get over it.

It might be my fault Doug (for which I apologise to dvmed) it's this whole theme of the moderators are unfair - we should be able to post what we like that I find rather distasteful. I think dvmed may just have got the backlash.
