Connect Axim x51v to TV?

I have searched the forums with out my luck. Is it possible to connect your axim x51v to your tv much like a 5G video ipod for video playback? I know there is a the VGA presentation cable out there but anything that would connect to a tv using standard RCA av cables? Thanks for the help.

The simple answer is No. The Axim only has a VGA o/p unless your TV has a VGA input (typically a 15w HD connector), you will need a scan converter box.

I do it all the time. Get the presentation cable and an RCA adapter.

frenchie -- how do videos run on the tv? could you watch a movie with it?

I heard somewhere that the processor's not quite powerful enough to handle full motion video on a tv screen.

SO I don't need anything other than the converter cable via ebay and my presentation cable? I have found some that even have s video. I noticed the one in Frenchies link is for a componenet out. Does sound work and can you use those in the standard red/yel/wht plugs on your tv? Thanks!

not true...i run to my TV divx files that look flawless from my x50v. the trick is that you have to turn off the screen on your axim, and just allow the output to TV. if you do a mirror, then the picture lags.

Ooo -- that's pretty cool to hear. Thanks, Gene! And if you're still here to reply to this -- what cables to you use for this setup? I know Boxwave has some presentation cables -- but it all seems crazy expensive to me ($80 USD or something like that)

Caution! it will only work if the TV can handle VGA frequecies (i.e. newer LCD/Plasma types), You could damage a CRT TV with VGA frequencies.

I'm at a loss as to why you could not find any of my posts regarding the VGA to NTSC converter that x10.com sells for $29 - and it's wireless to boot.

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...ght=interlaced

You want the "Lola VGA Video" and NOT the "Lola TV Video".

You also need the VGA output cable that sells for around $10-$20 on ebay.

There was at one time, an ebay vendor that had a set with the converter and vga cable. Don't know if that is still available anywhere.

I have the X10 unit and it works fine - however, the standard TV bandwidth drops off for resolutions higher than 320x240, so using at a resolution of 640x480 or higher on your TV will start to look fuzzy. It's good for movies though.

hope this helps.
