Is there a way to tell processor speed by "Service Tag" or other means?

I'm looking to buy a replacement x50 (preferably 520mhz "mid" version), but I can't seem to find a physical way to tell the difference between the 400mhz "low" version and the 520mhz "mid" version.

Obviously the x50v is written right on the face.

I'm trying to log into to Dell's System Profiler using a service tag, but it hangs on the Active X install (seems like a lot of people can't get this to work). And, therefore, I don't even know if the Processor speed can be determined.

Does anyone know how to translate the Service Tag into processor specs? (or does anyone have an active Dell Support account that wouldn't mind looking up one or two for me?)

MANY THANKS!

You can post it here. I can look it up. I don't work for Dell, but I can get around their site when needed.

The processor speed is reported in the System Info on the device but I'm guessing you don't have actual 'hands on' access of the one you are considering.

Not only does that help, that solves a HUGE dilemma. And saved me from a sub-par purchase.

Rock on.
