Wallpaper bleed-thru - how to avoid?

I noticed two days ago while I was watching a video that during bright scenes I was seeing an outline of something that I knew wasn't part of the video but couldn't figure out what it was.
Then I realized it was the outline of a figure on my desktop wallpaper that had burned into the screen! I switched wallpaper and within a day that outline was gone.
I just wanted to know what is it about certain wallpaper that causes this? I know the wallpaper I had before, a jpg, was resized by somebody using photoshop, but other than that I didn't notice anything weird about it.

Any ideas? thanks in advance:)

I'd try using a better wallpaper paste, maybe with a little less water...

So, this is your desktop machine, and not your Axim right? If so, what is it doing in this forum, surely the water fountain is a better place?

Is it a CRT (deep electron tube based) or a TFT (sleek, thin) monitor? CRT monitors tend not to like having the same image displayed for hours on end as it burns the phosphor. TFTs shouldn't be as prone to this problem.

In short: use a screensaver, that's what they are for.

Um, it is about my axim x51v, that's why I chose to post this axim-related question on this axim-related site.

Anyone else?

Your Axim LCD screen cannot suffer permanent burn in so do not worry. As you have already stated, switching to a different image removed the problem, as would be expected with an LCD screen.
