Question Widcomm Stack with BT GPS, Audio reciver Q?

SO here is the deal. I've been using my X51v with the origianl BT stack with no problems. I got a Jensen BT Stereo Audio Receiver (http://www.amazon.com/Jensen-WBT310-.../dp/B000CMU1NM) and of course the oem BT stack was worthless, so i did as the sticky said and installed the Widcomm BT stack and my Audio Receiver "Works". But i have three issues that come to the BT Widcomm Stack
1. no auto link, the oem stack would automatically link to my Dell BT GPS as soon as i turned it on. The Widcomm, I have to go to bluetooth manager, right click, say connect and then it will link.
Is there some way for it to auto link?
2. THe BT Audio reciver has dropping issues, i have to do the same linking procedure as above and then it works, sometimes i can be on a 3 hour drive and it has no problem playing audio other then a little blip every once in a great while but other times after a few mins, it will drop the audio connection (sound just stops) and i go to bluetooth manager see its not linked and try to relink and it will fail to link. THen i have to reboot and hope the link will stay this time.
3. Ever since i installed the stack it seems that when i push the power button, it never truly goes into sleep mode ( even know the light is off and screen is off), after a few hours i will try to turn it on just to find the battery dead

anyone have any solutions for those issues?

side note, so far other then the dropping, the only con about the BT Audio Receiver is that it clips and has a little noise on the on the high freqs such a vocals (is that a factore of the receiver or the BT stack?)

Thanks everyone

I think that with the Widcomm stack you have to manually connect every time. I haven't found a way to do it automatically with any of my BT accessories with the widcomm stack on my x51v

Widcomm Stack will not work with the Dell BT GPS. My Axim will recognize it & pair with my GPS. The software will connot see the connection. This is even after I use the auto detect. There are several other threads on this issue.

I used the Widcomm stack version 0.5 with my Dell BT-309 and NavTeq software and used it while driving all over Kentucky while on vacation. Only had it drop the connection once in 8+ hours driving.
I had to start the bluetooth connection and attach to my GPS, then start the NavTeq and off I went.

Breley,
how did you manage to get the bt309 gps with the navteq software to work with the widcomm stack v0.5? I couldn't get it to work at all. It works fine with the default bt stack. I have x51v (a12 rom), dell bt309 gps and navteq software A00 3691NA. Would appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Hmmm...well, all I recall doing was installing the Widcomm stack, turning on my BT309, turning on my X51v's bluetooth radio and activating the Widcomm, selecting Explore a Bluetooth device, clicking on my BT-309 (comes up as something like BT-GPS-XYZPDQ), connecting to it and then starting up the Dell NavTeq program. I think I had it autodetect the GPS just to confirm.
Now if I remember correctly, I think I had originally set up the GPS with the MS stack and paired once or twice with the NavTeq software. The whole reason I went to Widcomm was the MS stack/NavTeq was terribly unreliable where my BT-309 was concerned, so I downloaded the 0.5 cab, installed it, and I don't think I had to do anything particularly special to get the NavTeq software to work, it just did for me, even more recently after I wiped my device and reinstalled.
BTW, my NavTeq is the A01 revision of the May 2005 cds.

thanks, breley. I'll give the widcomm stack another try when I get the navteq software revision A01 installed on my x51v.

I am not sure anymore why I cannot use the Widcom BT Stack. I just look at my version of Navteq software & it is version A00. Is there anyway that I can upgrade the software? I don't care about the maps.

I would have thought that my version of software would have been newer that that. Since i purchased my Axim & GPS last march.

I have never had any problem with the MS stack & my GPS. I am in the for hours at a time on business trips & never loose the connection.
