So I bought my Axim a few months ago, mostly to write my reports for work...and it works great for that. I watch movies when I'm on the road, and take notes with phone calls when I don't have paper handy when I'm working.
So I went to my morning appointment. pulled the gear out of my van...put my camera, Axim on the hood. Grabbed my camera out and took a few pics, then find out my appointment was cancelled. grabbed the camera bag, stuck the camera back in, got in the van and took off. Down the road a few miles I miss my exit so I look for a quick place to turn around. Hit the brakes at 60mph only to see my Axim fly out on the road and come apart in pieces (it was in the carrying case

I was in absolute horror.....my Axim in pieces on the road. So I turn into a road, get out of the van to go out into the road and find the damage. Well I had to wait as a Semi was bearing down.....I couldn't look!!! Somehow, some way he missed it all:hide: I ran out and saw my battery first, then the cover and then the Axim...the Axim actually skidded on it's back and the screen was not scratched! stuck the battery in, popped the battery cover on, turned it on...AND IT WORKED!!!! I was elated. Jumped back into the van not imagining my good luck....got down the road a bit and realized the stylus was missing. I turned around and went back. Pulled in the same place and started my search....found it without too much effort on the shoulder of the road. A little bent but no biggie. Started walking and realized my 4gb SD card was missing...looked all over...finally found it in the other lane...in three pieces...actually I think I was the one that ran it over as I was the only car that had used the other lane!!!

All my data is gone...had about 16 hours of movies I ripped down, plus a few programs I bought or downloaded like pocketbreeze, pdf, etc. The SD card cover came off in two pieces and the chip was in one piece, but it would no longer read on my PC...actually after I tried, I bought a new one and my PC will not read that either...so I think somehow I screwed something up with my card reader on my laptop.
Anyway, I didn't come out unscathed, but it could have been much much worse!
