calander sharing

Is there a way to have both my calender and my girlfriends calender on my PPC? I'd like to be able to see her work hours (becuase she has wierd shifts and I can never keep track). She keeps it all in an iPAQ PPC. any chance in doing this?

She can beam her schedule to you between the two devices. The schedule can be in the form of a spreadsheet with your schedule on a tab and her schedule on a different tab. This of course would be an alternative to actually having her calender on your PPC.

Does this mean she'll have to recreate her schedule in a spreadsheet form (retyping everything) or is there a way to create a spreadsheet directly from your schedule in outlook?

You could both sync to the same computer so that your calendars are in the same Outlook database. You could create a category with your girlfriend's name and use that category to differentiate your calendar entries from your girlfriend's calendar entries.

When you create an ActiveSync partnership for your girlfriend's pocket pc and your computer, you'll select just the calendar data to sync. Upon the first sync, ActiveSync will recognize that there is already data on both the pocket pc and the computer and ask you how you wish to proceed. You'll be given three choices, Combine the data, Replace the data on the pocket pc with the data from the computer, or Ignore.

You'll want to select Combine the data. Then her appointment data will get copied to your computer, Your appointment data will get copied to her pocket pc. Once her data is on your computer, then you'll sync your pocket pc and her data will get copied to your pocket pc from your computer.

Before doing this, you will probably want to create a "John" category (or whatever your name is) and assign this category to all of your appointment data; and you will create a "Jane" category (or whatever your girlfriend's name is) and assign this category to all of her appointments, so you can keep the data separate.

I don't even put them into categories. I keep my wife's schedule (she's a nurse in a hospital) and the "appointment" will just say "Wife's Name Work". Same for my daughter's stuff (dance team practice, camp field trips, etc.). I sync from my work lappy to my Ax (and BB) and then to the home lappy. Then Wifey has my schedule (travel meetings conf calls, etc.) even my tee times. Now if i can just get her to actually look at the Calendar.

I should also mention that when I enter my wife or daughter's stuff, I usually check the private box and enter the time as free. This prevents others from seeing the appointment and the "free" doesn't clog my schedule. helpfull when other are trying to set meetings or conference calls.
