I just purchased an x51v, doesn't include the application CD, I know I can DL the activesync program, manual, and device drivers, but am I missing out on any applications or games that may of been on the CD? Or would those be preinstalled on the ROM?
If I am missing out on a few games is there a place to get them or would that be against *Dells regulations*.
Thanks for any help, Derek

And you may want Outlook so that you can make/update appointments and stuff on your PC. Outlook come with almost every flavour of Office. If you don't have Office then Oggsync will allow you to synchronise to Google Calendars, which is almost as good.

So that's all that was included on the CD?, Well I have Outlook, so that's not a problem. Does it come with any game packs or game packs on the ppc itself?, I am asking because I haven't received my purchase yet.
Regards, Derek

The original CD does have some games and utility programs. Almost all of them are trial versions that have to be eventually registered. There is one game, Toy Golf, that is a full version. I think Dell included it to show off the graphics card.
Yeah, most of what is on the CD you'll either find trialware elsewhere, and if you've had your Axim any length of time you'll already have tried it, or it's plain not worth trying. Toy golf is neat, but not a real must-have thing. Other than that all the CD has is Activesync and Outlook.
I think I saw battery meter and caligrapher trials on it, battery meter you can find better alternatives at PocketPCFreeware and Caligrapher might be nifty if I ever tried it. Couldn't tell you now, can't remember where I put it....

it has some trial applications and games, async, outlook, and manual
async can be dl'ed from winmobile.com
don't worry about outlook if you have MS Office installed
you can go to Dell support to dl manual
For games go to the emulation threads on this site, download Tala's snes emulator, Pico drive for genesis games and pocket GBA for gameboy advance games.
BTW I purchased my X51v from ebay and it did not come with the CD either, it hasn't caused me any problems. I highly recommend the following programs Opera web browser, TCPMPversion .81(if you can find a copy), Xnview v1.4 photoviewer, Launcher and pRSSreader and if pocket G2 Pro ever comes back online grab a copy of that as it's the best P2P file sharer out there!
Same for me, an ebay purchase is why I did not receive a CD. The Resco Explorer you speak of, I had this on my Dell Axim X5, a great program can I use the one for that or would it not be compatible with the 320x240 screen?
Otherwise is there a way someone can email the setup file that was on the CD to me?
Regards, Derek
