only the transcriber is removed, you can use keyboard etc...as per usual, if you like you can always install microsofts transcriber.

I don't know if A18 has CF support, but this time I succeed in patching A17 rom, I have it working with my Kingston 4GB CF Card.

A18 definately has it, because the aku 3.5 ROM for the x50v was based off the A18 ROM for x51v and the x50v version has full CF support. I take your point though, A18 will most likely just include the A17 patch.

I am just installing the A17 + CF patch version now. Hopefully all goes well!

No you are wrong, the tool used to build the xip kernel works ok with the x50v architecture, while it gets corrupted kernel with the x51v architecture. I had to patch the x51v xip kernel.

as I can confirm CF works. I am using a transcend 8gb cf card (TS8GCF150) it works flawlessly.

hey guys i dont what the hell is wrong with me it wont work for me i upgraded to WM5 A01 i put the two files in my SD card and format the card to a FAT32 i do the widi+power+and reset button then the SD Image Loader screen comes up and when its looking for the images and sees it it then tells me that the image wont work. please help me out im about to go nuts. Thanks =]

it said that after it was done flashing the rom press power+reset which i did and all of the sudden it wont power on

Connect it to the mains and try performing the hard reset again.

AFAIK it does not have the filesys patch applied, but that does not seem to work with this AKU at the moment anyway (and really shouldn't be needed as compaction is greatly reduced for x50v). It also won't carry any of the tweaks that a program like Tweaks2k would apply so you would have to re-apply those.
