Connect it to the mains and try performing the hard reset again.

@ lumbug

AFAIK it does not have the filesys patch applied, but that does not seem to work with this AKU at the moment anyway (and really shouldn't be needed as compaction is greatly reduced for x50v). It also won't carry any of the tweaks that a program like Tweaks2k would apply so you would have to re-apply those.

What do you mean connect it to the mains ???

I suggest you download the A12 ROM from the Dell website and connect the Axim into the cradle and run that. Hopefully that will bring it back to life.

Can you get it to boot into SD Boot Loader mode (i.e. pressing Reset while holding power + wireless)? It sounds like the flash did not complete properly. If you cannot get it into SD boot loader mode then hopefully Dell's flash utility for the A12 ROM will bring it back to life.

I had the same thing last night. it just wouldnt work. I would only get the hard reset screen.

At one point I went mad and just pressed the buttons over and over again .. and I got

I think I let go off the buttons all at once ... anyway. you should just keep on tryin. at one point somehow it works.

I would advise everyone to give this rom a go. it really is much better than the old wm5 rom. my x50v did get stuck couple of times but apart from that you really dont notice any slowdown - only when you first boot. it takes couple of seconds for the pda to normalize. afterwards all is fine.

I especially like the PIE wiev high res option. It really looks like qzVGA ... (it is disabled when using qzVGA)

duplicate them and rename the K with B, namely,

WM50_B_A03_X50v_WM50_EN.nb0
WM50_B_A03_X50v_WM50_EN_nb0.crc

that should work now.

prior to your update you need WM5 at least to run the SD card update.
I am confused. Shouldn't the bootloader and kernel flash image files be different? If you copy the kernel files and replace the K in the filename with B, wouldn't the SD Image Loader attempt to flash a kernel image into the bootloader area? Assuming the SD Image Loader does not properly check the image size/type, that would totally brick the unit. The x50v would no longer have a proper bootloader to boot up anything. Hopefully this is not what happened to kenneth11414's x50v.

Did you update to WM5 A01 before using this ROM update?

@ shaka526

Sorry about that, I have been posting in the x50 and x51 AKU 3.5.2 threads and started to get mixed up with the Dell ROM numbers. The ROM you want from Dell's website is A02.

~DC:UK~ tried that also i get a message

"connect your device to a computerusing sync cable or cradle...........:"

Like i said in the previous post it dosent connect or do anything. I think this whole upgrade process croupted my ROM. Is there a way to fix that or is my AXIM a small piece of brick now?
