I got it a while back. I have a small issue where the WLAN utility will go straight to the configure network adapters screen instead of showing a tab on the bottom for that and the wireless networks (where you would pick and configure your wireless network in the WLAN utility.)

It randomly comes and goes and seams to have an issue connecting to my lan. Not sure if its ever worked right so i wont say the wifi is broken yet.

Other than that everything else is working fantastic. Faster, no locks or crashes, webpages when the wireless worked were faster and can be run in high res mode without going into true vga mode completely.

I will post a full review later on once I get some testing done. I have ran A02 since before it was released and well, looks like I will be on A03 here for a while.

How do we get a MSN for these versions? Tried the full WML and it won't work.

i install the oficial messenger live mobile and works perfect ..
in a02 messengerlive mobile some time refuse to show the conected contacts but now works like a charm all the time

the thing that give more hope now is that the rom now is in good hands ... now we do not depend on a lousy suport ... now real programers have the power to make wonderfull things with this hardware

i really believe that this is going to be a good time to x50v :approve:

I'm using A03 right now, and it owns.

My X50v feels more responsive overall, and IE isn't as bad to use since it now supports VGA mode(still needs tabs like Opera Mobile, though).

Unfortunately, the CPU still gets pegged at 624 MHz on Auto, meaning that the compaction thread hasn't been totally rectified yet. The filesys.exe patch doesn't work, either. On the bright side, I generally don't notice any sluggishness while it's running.

The other issue is that XIP doesn't seem to be enabled. I can live with it, though I wish it was set up that way so that I'd have more RAM free.

Overall, I think I'll stick with it.

I'm going to try it... wish me luck!

I'm not bothered by the compaction thread issue cos you can solve that by not installing anything to onboard storage.

I decided to take the plunge, couldn't resist it, installed it last night, have been thoughly testing it all morning, adding software and just generally using it...

All I did was load it on the SD, do the Wireless/power/reset thing and updated my system...

Haven't actually done any tweaks at all, just installing, running, playing anything, still installing stuff on SD/CF as thats become a habit now, but I have a fair few files, notes etc...in the main memory, not getting any slow down at all, Blue tooth works perfectly, SD/CF are found ok....no problems, syncs fine....

One thing though, why remove the transcriber ?

I shall be using this 3.5 version from now on, no going back, well done !!!

I think It's a good rom, I will probably use it or a custom one, but I am still busy with the x51v, so I keep my x50v on 231 (I don't have time to reinstall it). When my x51v will be properly setup, I will evaluate this rom.
You can still use ramdisk I guess (I know that it has an issue with WM6), but you don't need the pie_high_res script anymore. :)

Well Makuu, have tested all my Mortscripts, PIE ramdisk, Igo, Memory Map and Run.gps...

the PIE ramdisk runs perfectly, auto creates a Ramdisk folder etc...as usual..

The other Bluetooth mortscripts I just removed the scripts about caligrapher opening and closing...the bluetooth switcher works as before also...

Must admit though everything is generally running even faster than my last WM5 A02 setup...now I would say faster than 2003SE ever was...this is truly a brilliant step forward for all x50v users, now there is absolutely no reason not to have WM5/6 this even has all the WM6 icons/sounds...Wow Christmas has come very early

When will us X50(mid) owners get AKU 3.5.2? I never hear any news about AKU 3.5.2 for X50(mid). Will I just have to make it myself?

like i said before ...a very good thing about this is that now programers/hackers have the control of the roms ...we don't have to wait dell's any more

I've been wondering about that too. I don't use it often, but it's nice to know it's there. Also the removal of MSN irks me a bit, but at least I can put Windows Live Messenger Mobile on there for free.

I haven't done the WM5 upgrade since the original disc came out (after which I promptly reverted to WM2003), so I think I'll give it a try once more...
