didnt have the time to use a12 beacsue i went straight through it. but when opening a menu on a12, it was slower. a17 corrects this. i am going to restore my pda with all my programs n stuff, so that will be the real test.

30-32 free. trust me. so far it is well worth to updated. things are definetly faster.

Finished updating. posting from axim now. It uses wm6 graphics and sounds. very nice.

after installing wa2 and other software (no today plugins) i have roughly 28-29mb free

I have around 21mb left when I have WA2, M$ Voice Command, iLauncher, and PocketWeather (with A12). 28-29 mb is good. I like that....

I am still nervous of updating....... But it will go well. I'm not dumb. But it is a hastle to re-install all of my programs (trust me, I have way to much on my device!).
I will probably take a backup of my programs registry keys, then all of the program files in main memory. Then take my *old* lnk files back onto the start menu. It would be easier to restore a backup with SPB Backup, but can that restore a backup after a ROM update?

dont know. i dont use backup programs. i use my SD card as my restore (inside i have a folder called "pocket pc restore" with 2 flash folders (1 for BIS one for SD) so i just install programs appropriatly to each destination. also all of my serials are soved to a doc file so i can re-enter them later. as for sync stuff (contacts, appts, etc) that is stored on my server so i just sync with the server and voila)

Ohh. Ok. So you just copy your Program Files folder, then paste it to your SD card?

There's no issue with hardware if that's what you mean. The only issues would be small software ones.

So lets say I go from A12 to Football's ROM to try it out. I should be able to flash back to A12 using an image created from Dells A12 upgrade right? And if this is true then will Dell be able to tell that I flashed A12 back onto the Axim after flashing A17? Just curious if they will void my 2 more years of accidental warranty coverage if I can still get back to A12 after trying out Football's ROM.
