Speed stuck at 624MHz after WM5 install then A02 Update on X50v

Against my better judgement, I installed WM5. This was completely fresh, full format, etc. Then I installed A02 immediately after (this is the newest update, right?).

My processor is stuck at 624MHz when on Auto. I read about the Filesys.exe issue and how it should resolve itself after it makes its changes, but its been sitting on the cradle for an hour or so and still stuck at this.

I also tried deleting the two keys, as directed in this thread, restarted, and they came back. I also tried changing them to 255. BTW, question on that. Just change the name or...? That's what I did. Anyhow, it didn't fix it.

What else should I try?

Thanks!

Hi Louse,

Yes A02 is the latest version.
Your x50v is stuck at 624Mhz because, you said it youfself, it is cradled & charging, hence no need for power management.
Try it out of the cradle and see what happens, speed should drop.

Apply the Fake Server Hack (here on Aximsite), and install a utility like MagicButton to shut down applications. Activesync will continue to run and will cause the system to stay above 520 mhz unless shut down after each use. Here's the problem, unless you set up the fake server, it will restart itself and be back at it. Once I did the fake server hack, as long as I don't forger to shut down Activsync both of our X50vs will drop to 106. Plus, I can leave the unit off the charger for 3 days and the battery is still at 96-98% which was not the case before.

SteeveO said it best: take it off the cradle and see. You can try magic button but MB will keep it running slightly higher too. Something in MB uses a few extra cycles of processor for some reason.
