How to use x51v infrared connect to internet

I have a old nokia phone, no bluetooth only infrared.I am in UK,use Vodafone pay as you go,GPRS on. I have tried a hundred times but still cannot get connect,I know it is possible,but just can't.Please give me a little help,many thanks.

I may be incorrect, but for connecting to the internet via phone I truly think you need bluetooth. Infrared connections must be made with the transmission port windows lined up all the time, bluetooth does not.

yaa other than being really inconvenient to use because of lining up the ports, it would just be dreadfully slow. IR is really not very fast at all, i dont think it would even be worthwhile really.

It depends on which IR hardware is laoded, HSIR (I think) is the latest release and is between 10 and 40mbps, well over any internet connection avalible.

Ad for how, I'm sorry to say I only use IR for beaming the odd contact of rile between my PDA/Phone when I dont feel like moving around SD cards...
