Flashed x51 to A12 and WMP disappeared...
I searched but didn't find a thread on this.

Last night, I flashed my Axim x51 from A05 to A12 (I haven't touched it in nearly a year, since my current job doesn't support PocketPC with Lotus Notes - manually keeping my calendar up-to-date is a huge PITA).

Everything went peachy; I reinstalled my games and software and stuff and my SD card's data was intact. However, Windows Media Player has disappeared. All that is in \Program Files\Windows Media Player are three .skn files. I looked online, and it appears that it's not really possible to download and install WMP for WM5.

What happened, and/or how do I get it installed on my x51? I really would just like to be able to watch small videos on it once in awhile - PocketMusic handles MP3s fine, but since WMP can do other formats...

WMP is here, be sure that icon isn't in Start Menu !

I think its in the windows folder.

I'm going to assume you mean "WMP is there"...and it's not; I can guarantee you. The executable doesn't exist in the filesystem of my Axim. It's not in the Start Menu, and it is nowhere to be found either through Explorer on the Axim or through looking in the filesystem through my computer.

Do you know where (e.g. in a subfolder)? I looked around and didn't see it anywhere...it's definitely not just in the root of \Windows\.

The normal location is \Windows\wmplayer.exe

It's visible with the standard file manager (unlike most of the stuff in the Windows folder).

If you don't see the icon, connect it to your PC and open up Windows Explorer and navigate to your PocketPC directory \Windows\wmplayer.exe and create a shortcut to your startup folder in PocketPC.
