Outlook keeps opening automatically

Hi guys,

I just got a new iPod Nano, and I selected the option to sync the contacts from Outlook into it. So whenever I plug in the Nano, Outlook opens up automatically, which is a bit annoying, but I guess it does that to sync.

Anyways, now whenever I plug in my Dell Axim X51v into the sync charger, Outlook also opens automatically (!) .. I don't want this to happen! It's not a huge nuisance, but sometimes I get a Microsoft error message about Outlook not opening properly.

Is there any way to prevent this, other than to stop syncing to the iPod?

Outlook will open regardless, it is usually as a process without a visible window.

I'd start with outlook itself is hosed or something in your windows install is screwy.

try these steps below, stop when one works:
Uninstall, reinstall outlook and see what you get.

then uninstall outlook, uninstall itunes, install outlook.

Screw it all and fdisk it

I think radimus is right. There aren't any settings to stop Outlook form opening.
Maybe uncheck the sync option in iTunes?

Welcome to my world . . .

I've wanted to know the reason for this for a long time.

I get many,many instances of outlook processes running . . . and I don't even have my X51V connected !?

I'd love to know what I'm doing to cause so many instances.
