HP IPAQs cannot be updated with Windows Vista machines. This is probably also the case with Dell updates. You'll probably need to use an XP machine.

You cannot use Vista to do a ROM update/rollback. However, you CAN do a ROM update/rollback using a Windows XP virtual machine within Vista.

The same happened to me and I had to use a XP machine. Forget about Vista and use a VM to do the ROM roll back. Good luck!!:approve:
