x50v with WM5 A02 seems really sluggish

Hi All,

Since upgrading from WM2003se to WM5 A02 the machine seems really sluggish during use....even taking a few seconds to show the menu after clicking start....I have checked processor and it was running at 624Mhz.

Not exactly sure whats going on....anyone got similar issues or have some tweaks to fix it?

I am sure if you have a look around the threads you will find many about such issues.

If you avoid using the BIS for any write operations (i.e. keep as much as possible on memory cards) this will save on time spent in the compaction thread.

There are two schools of thought on this - one that believes that the X50V doesnt work with WM5 and other (much smaller) one that finds it acceptable.

I belong to the latter - mine works fine.

Persistent storage is great - I havent used my X50V for at least 4 weeks but will be using it for sat nav tomorrow. A charge and reset (if the battery ran down completely) and away be go. It just works .....

Give the Unofficial A03 a shot. DO a search for it in this forum.
