Why does it take HOURS to send file to an SD card?

When I plug my SD card in any SD reader it takes like 5 seconds to copy files to it and then my Axim can read those files just fine.

However, when I use ActiveSync and try to copy files - it gets STUCK or does it extremely slow!

Why is that?

You have the disadvantage of usb1 when using your axim (as opposed to the 10X faster usb2 in your reader).

Combined with the fact that ActiveSync is a massive overhead when copying file

Try Softick Card Export,
it will make the whole process 10 - 20 times faster.
I reviewed it here...

Card export does indeed remove the activesync bottleneck... but its still slower than a usb2 card reader.

AS tries to "convert" files (esp office documents) so this may also be the problem. I agree, use a card reader, I keep one hooked to my PC and one in my pocket at all times!

I believe the copy method is:
from your pc --> through Active sync --> into the Axim Main memory --> to your SD card
The copies use Main memory, and this is an additional reason it is slow.
