Is ther an ActiveSync that supports both WM5 and WM2003?

I've got two x50v's, one with wm2003, one with wm5.

I currently have activesync 4.5.0, build 5096

it sees my wm2003 pda, but not the wm5.

can I install to instances of activesync, is there an activesync version that works with both winmobile versions, or will i need to install two versions on different pc's?

you need .net framework (1.1, 1.1 hotfix, 2.0, 3.0, total 4 sets) to make WM5 works with bt async correctly
another simple solution: install Broadcom bt stack

Activesync 4.x should work with both WM2003SE and WM5. Do your Axims have different device names? Have you tried disabling firewalls?

Yes, AS 4.5 will work for both PPC2003SE and WM5 - I am syncing two devices with WM5 and a IPAQ 4700 with PPC2003SE. I use AS 4.5 and OUTLOOK 2007. You cannot install two instances of Activesync.

What device does it not see ? If it is a HX2000 series IPAQ , there are 3 types of resets available - soft, hard, clean. The clean reset is like the old hard reset and all data will be cleared. With the hard reset , you do not lose data, but some registries will be cleared and this might help you without any loss of data.

Wow, I didn't know there were three types of resets for Ipaqs...on Axims, however, only two are available - soft (clear out RAM, close running programs, delete anything unsaved, etc.) and hard (return to factory state).

only the HX2000 series with WM5 have the three types of resets.

My Axim X-30 and my iPaq 5910 with WM5 both sync to my laptop with AS 4.5.

Only my wm2003 x50v will sync with 4.5. I also have an x51v, with a different name, and it is never detected. ActiveSync just churns and churns...
Any ideas?

wino man - you may need to hard reset the other device.
