File Associations

I've got Softmaker's PlanMaker and TextMaker installed, and for some reason I've lost the file associations (just get the generic icon for .xls and .doc files). And they take forever to redisplay in my menu.

I've tried re-installing PM and TM to 'reassociate' those files, but it doesn't work, even after soft reset.

I've tried associating the files using Resco File Explorer (Open with --> choose app, check box to always open with this app). But it doesn't seem to stick.

Is there maybe a reg hack to get these permanently moved to PM and TM (I think WM5 is getting confused as to whether to use PM or Mobile Excel, for example.)

You can find all the file associations under HKCR in your registry. Try using Resco File Explorer to open your registry.
