wifi to public access

I have read many post of this yet still having problems. I need someone to walk thru it step by step.
I am in the library to hook up to internet by wifi Axim x50v- the pda reconizes the connection )library connection) but when I go into explorer it will not connect to the internet and states that the connection setup is wrong.

Did you click on the wifi icon on your toolbar and click Settings and the click and hold the name of the Library connection - you will get a box pop up and you need to click on Connect. Also make sure you don't need to enter a username and password, although most libraries are open unsecured connections.

as I remember, the first time you click on a new wifi carrier it should ask if you are connecting to work or to internet, choose internet. sorry I don't have my ax with me.
