New to the Axim family

Hi I just purchased a slightly used Axim x50 Midline. I was curious as to what were some good downloads for the device. I dont need any business apps as I am going to use this as a multimedia machine (Internet, Photos, music, maybe movies, or tv shows, and games) also does anyone know if you can load ymessenger on the axim? Im not the most tech savvy so plain english please...

I advise you to also get Magic Button, it lets you acctually CLOSE applications, instead of minimizing them!

Also if you plan on browsing the net a lot, either Netfront or Opera Mobile are good investments

If you like IM, Agile Messenger is good, but costly. There are several others I'm testing right now, if you're intersted I'll post my findings when I finish.

If you're into gaving, Shadows of Legend runs well on the Axim; the ONLY mmorpg avalible for a handheld platform (though it's painfully easy at this point)

be sure to get PocketRAR! IT will let you compress/decompress files on your PDA

If you like Emulation (aka romulation) you'll want to look at Morphgear!

If I think of some more I'll post, but it's late and my brain is tired...

There are also MANY freeware apps out there.

First suggestion is try and define what you want to do with the PDA... I try to do as much as possible with mine, but some people just want an MP3 player and gameboy....

then look at the freeware apps that will assist you in those functions.

Learn what a hard reset is and use it often so you can try new apps... do not get too comfortable with a given setup until you have played with many apps.

Once you have found what you like, look at commercial versions of those type apps... Most are reasonably priced, but the freeware ones are about as good as the retail apps are.
