I dropped my Axim and now the SD slot doesn't work

I've got an X50v and was playing video off the SD card when the unit dropped. The SD card doesn't seem to have a problem (tried it on my laptop), but the PDA won't recognize that or any other SD card. Everything else seems fine with the Axim. Is my SD slot damaged? Anybody have similar experiences with something like this?

Sounds like you knocked a connection loose. HAve you seen any other problems? if not, probably jsut the slot. Your choices are:

1. live with it or get a CF->SD adapter (yes these exist) if you need SD support and dont need CF support.
2. crack open the X51v and try to repair it yourself (if you're good at micro-soddering, this is a good option, but otherwise, I dont reccoment it as it may become a $350 brick forever)
3. call up PPC Techs and arrange for them to repair it.
4. buy a new one (if you got money to burn or the company will pay, this may acctually be your best option since you dont ahve to wait for PPC Techs or chance destroying it while workign on it yourself.)

Thanks! No other problems that I have noticed. Is there a guide for taking apart the X50 anywhere? Not sure if I want to attempt this, but at least am interested in getting an idea of what would be involved.

IF you look through the threads, there is a post, I think by affarree (sp?) about tkaing appart the axim and it may even ahve some skematics.
