What if I want to remove - Pocket MSN, transcriber, etc..?

Is it possible to remove the following with all connected/associated files and registry entries:

1. Pocket MSN
2. Odyssey Client
3. Transcriber
4. Data Backup
5. Download Agent

I know WM6 is not possible on Axims, but what about Office Mobile?

Does the new Office Mobile support .DOCX MS Office 2007 extensions? Does the old one support them? I want to be able to open them up and work with them...

If these software came installed on your pocket pc, then they are installed in ROM and can not be uninstalled.

What new office mobile are you talking about? As far as I know, there is no new Office Mobile that can be installed to WM5.0 pocket pcs. In fact, I saw a .CAB file posted on a website sometime ago that had to be removed because the website received a Cease & Desist order from Microsoft.

The version of Office Mobile that runs on WM5.0 devices is not able to open up Office 2007 files. The way around this is to save the Office 2007 files in the old .doc or .xls formats before moving them over or emailing them to a pocket pc. Perhaps in the future, some third party vendors will release software that will be compatible with Office 2007 that can be used instead of the Office Mobile aplications that are already on the pocket pc, but I am not aware of any such software at this time.

Newest Document To Go support .docx btw.

And I am not trying to tinker with a ROM update. Once you have A12 ROM loaded, you can tinker with Windows files all you want. Thats what I was asking...how to remove that software (that only takes space and I never use it) not from ROM but from Windows itself. I know its possible.

You cannot "uninstall" files that are built into ROM. You are really barking up the wrong tree trying to do that as a pet project.

The "experts" do that in ROM cookers and then spend their time fixing the things that broke or 3rd party apps that need those files for support.

If you feel like doing so and have the inclination to learn more... That isn't something that you'll be learning here.

If you have sktools then look go to the today plugin module find msn click&hold and there should be an option to delete registry key. This won't uninstall the app. just disable it.
2. Odyssey Client

There are two OdClientCE.exe's one is in the windows directory (can't do anything to it) the other is in the programs directory deleting it does nothing it is simply recreated when you soft-reset. But you can replace it with a fake OdClientCE.exe.
Open mobile word select new document now save this doc. as OdClientCE.txt to main memory. Then change the file extension to .exe and move it to the odessy client folder this will replace the 2.4 Mb file with a 1b file saving you 2.4 Mb's.
3. Transcriber

Once again you disable this app. using sktools imput module.
4. Data Backup

You might need this even though it doesn't compare to spb or sprite backup.
5. Download Agent

I don't know!
I hope this helps!
