WM5 Upgrade for X50v german?

well, i have an english Upgrade for wm2003se-to-wm5 (bought at ebay but turned out to be useless unless these upgrades are language-dependent.

You'd need to get a German version of the upgrade to upgrade your German language pocket pc to WM5.0. Or you could first change the language of your German Pocket PC to English (there are threads here that provide detailed instruction on how to do this), then perform the upgrade....but you'd be left with an English version pocket pc.

We are not discussing anything illegal here!!
If he can't find a German update because Dell doesn't sell them and he can't find them in eBay. He can use his English one. That is the discussion going on here.
You should read better the new policy.

To convert your pocket pc from windows mobile 2003 to WM5.0 requires that you first have a validly licensed version of WM5.0. Performing this update any other way is illegal and not to be discussed on this forum....period. Dell did not give this upgrade away for free.

The original poster needs to get a valid, licensed copy of WM5.0 to upgrade the device. Any discussion about how to upgrade to WM5.0 any other way is not allowed on this forum.

I didn't know that about the img format. I thought the .nb0 were image inside that.

btw @ juanpa74, all updates offered from dell are in *.img-format, and for flashing, i need a *.nb0-file and a crc, and t´he offered converting programs (here in the forums) don't really work for me. so i guess, i got to wait a bit.

well, according to this : http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...-flashing.html thread, i can flash my device, if i have : a DiMa_WM5-bootloader (a bootloader from WM2003 to flash WM5 and a WM5 image. i have both and i'm thinking about flashing.

but i still got 2 questions :
what is the 'action-button'? is it the tiny button in the middle of my 4way-movement/navi-keys?
and can i flash any rom back, if something goes wrong?
