Upgraded V50 to WM5 and now really SLOW

I upgraded to WM5 and now my V50 is really slow. Anyone have this issue or know how to resolve it without going back to WM2003?

If you will do a search and read some of the older post you will see that most everyone that put WM5 on a X50 had problems and went back to the orignal os.Some had good luck for a few weeks and things started to go bad.It may have worked for some but for most it didn't.

There was an A02 ROM version for the X50 WM5 that fixed *most* of the issues that people were having.

Wander around the Dell website, you may be able to find it...

Have you upgraded from A01 to A02 of WM5? The only official DELL route to WM5 A02 from WM2003 is with A01 first.

A02 CAN work, A01 doesnt.

With A02 avoid, at all costs, installing programs in device memory - put them all on SD / CF cards wheras possible.

Remember that because of the way WM5 uses memory it cannot perform as fast as WM2003 but you do get persistent storage - this is the trade-off.

Been using WM5 A02 since it came out (January? - except for a brief period at the weekend which cannot be mentioned here) without problems but my use is primarily with TomTom and as an MP3 player (CorePlayer) not as an organiser / email / internet browser (screen is too small!).

Of course it depends on what you define as "really slow":)

I think the OP probably meant X50v, or at least an X50 since this is posted in the X50/X51 forums.
