Wireless connection on x50v-WM5 and VPN

Hi all,
I am having a strange wi-fi "behaviour" on my x50v (running WM5). At work, I have to use VPN to connect to internet. DELL Wireless utility sees the wireless network fine, and I setup the VPN under the "connections" tab. However, I have no control over when to use the VPN.

At work: Axim connects to the wireless network. If I start Netfront (or any other software that needs to access internet), they cant connect (no VPN). As I said, I cant just say "connect VPN". However, if I start Internet Explorer, then VPN connection dialog is automatically initiated (no input from me). The only way for me to connect via VPN is to start Internet Explorer.

At home; Axim connects to the wireless network (my home network). All the programs access the Internet fine. However, when I start Internet Explorer, the VPN connection dialog is automatically initiated again, even though I dont need/want to use VPN at home.

In WM2003SE, there was a "connect VPN" link that I used to manage the VPN connections. Is there such a thing in WM5? I looked around but did not see anything. I just would like to have the option to control VPN connections.

Thanks for any help in advance - and sorry for the rather long post :)
