Request help/instructions: How does one downgrade from WM6?

Hi guys,
I know that discussion of the Axim x50v WM6 ROM's is illegal on this board, so I'm not gonna talk about them at all.

What I want is a way to downgrade to WM2003 using the SD-card method, regardless of whether I'm running WM2003 or WM6.

From what I understand, you need to have 4 files on an SD-Card formatted for Fat32; the prefix of the file identifies it to the bootloader and then you can boot and flash using the instructions provided.

Now, lets say I install WM6 on my x50v and I'm not happy - I'm now running the WM6 bootloader... can I just change the prefix of the ROM's on the SD card and then flash my old WM2003 images?

Thought rom had to go directly to handhelds main memory.

Well, eventually it will, but as per Domme's SD boot loader tutorial it has to be run from an SD-card, right?

Hmm... I'm eager to try either WM5 or WM6, but I need to know that i can reflash my Axim the hard way if possible - thanks again guys :)
I sincerely hope someone can help with this....

I had to downgrade my X51v when I had to exchange it under warranty.

I used the latest WM5 ROM upgrade on Dell's support website. Then following this thread, I extracted the ROM image files, and used Notepad to create the CRC file.

I used a freshly formatted (FAT32) SD card, and followed the instructions in the above thread. After loading the ROM File, the X51v was back to WM5.
