Share Experience with Activesync and X51v and Network Magic
I used to run a MIO168 with built in GPS. I loved that little PPC but alas I cooked it by leaving a dead dead battery in it and using the GPS/PPC via car power.
OK so I buy a x51v and Holux 1200 blue tooth receiver , my first impression's where not very good. Certain SD cards didn't work, syncing is alway's an adventure, the battery sucks power faster then you can change batteries. But I've come to love the screen, wifi, BT, etc. and am getting used to its quarks (which I must say the MIO 168 didn't have).
Anyway's I had big problems syncing to my desktop and when I did get a connection I couldn't use the PC while the PPC was synced. For reason's unknown to me at the time the main computer would go haywire. I mean unusable, I couldn't type anything into dialog boxes because the PC would jump from program to program, even if the program running in the foreground stayed there the dialog box would clear itself before I could finish typing what I wanted into it. Talk about frustrating !!! Oh and the Lan connection would disconnect all the time as well. So I tried various versions of Active Sync to no avail.
Then it dawned on me that I was running a networking program called Network Magic (have been for several years, even with the MIO).
So I uninstalled Network Magic and presto all my syncing and network problems disappeared?
Re-install Network Magic and the problems came back. Moral of the story if your having Sync problems or strange things happening as I did, check to see if your running third party Network Software and try and un-installing it.
