I installed MortPlayer on my X51v last week and I really like it. The car screen makes a world of difference while listening to music and driving my Land Rover. Since then, I have been trying to sync my Axim with my desktop with no success. I have tried syncing from AS on my desktop and from AS on my Axim, but ActiveSync doesn't see my Axim either way. I checked and the USB port is connected properly and sees the Axim. I even downloaded and installed AS 4.5, but still no sync. Is anyone else having this problem? What are my options? I need my Axim synced up.
Help. Reading other posts, I have unplugged my cradle, wiggled the Axim on the cradle connector, etc. The status light on the cradle lights up momentarily when I connector the dc cable, but goes off. However, my Axim does charge, probably through the USB port. Any suggestions for getting my Axim to sync with AS? If the cradle is bad can anyone suggest a replacement cradle?
Thanx,
Chris D.
If this problem is related to Mortplayer, try uninstalling it. Which status light on the cradle? IIRC, the light at the front indicates the status of the battery charging at the rear of the cradle. If you don't have anything charging in the slot, there will be no permanent light on.
As for replacement cables, Boxwave makes some reliable ones. Ebay one are usually ok.
I will try an uninstalling MortPlayer and see if that works. The light I talked about is on the syncing base. The light on the Axim is on and shows green. I guess this means my installed battery is charging. I will see if the light in the base comes one when I put the battery into the base for charging. If nothing helps, I will probably order a new cradle from BoxWave. Thanks for all the input.
I have mortpalyer installed, it works a treat and doesn't cause any problems with sync'ing - I can't imagine how just installing could cause a problem.
I found the issue, and it wasn't MortPlayer. Our IT guy modified my Config.Sys to speed up my system's boot time. I had made the request a few times so he finally got on my machine and he unchecked something that caused the non-syncing problem. My system did boot faster though. Anyway, I went back to my original config and everything works fine, although boot up is still slow. Thanks for the help and sorry for taking up your time.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know specifically what would cause my syncing problem by being deactivating in the config.sys?
