I've killed my bosses x50!!!!
Any help here would be fantastic, I now realise that I have flashed an x50 with WM5 for the x50v and everything went smoothly but now I can only get into the SD loader screen.
What can I Do?
Please help, it's not even mine

Hi,
My first thought to your post is, WHY would you do this when it is not yours?
Now that I asked that, if you do a search, there is help posted to fix your bosses pda.

I did it because he asked me to!
I have tried searching and browsing, 90% seems towards the x50v and the other 10% seems to be people in the same boat and nobody replies.
Out of desperation i posted for help

Your boss asked you to do something illegal, so he should not blame you. You can only upgrate from 2003 to WM5 if you paid the license and get the Dell upgrade CD. Upgrade is done via usb not via SD. Even if you did it with a WM5 nb0 for x50, it would not work either because of the 2003 bootloader.

Logically you need to get the WM 2003 image that is compatible with the x50 and copy it to an SD card formatted fat 32. you say you only get the boot loader screen.
The Roms are here You'll have to do the rest!!

You are quite right makuu but ANY altering of a ROM is illegal. Read the licence about reverse engeering and disassembly.
Providing links for ROMS is also a big no no yet i see you have uploaded some.
Also, Search the forum is not a big help when a minimum search is 4 letters.
And if i could search i couldnt exclude all the x50v results so it doesnt help much.
What is it with this forum, i have never come across such an arrogant and unhelpful forum in my life.
If anybody can actually offer some help that would be great

Tailor, you asked a question, innocently enough, that has recently been a topic of heated conversation. Even now the propriety of even discussing the spate of illegal ROMs is still not totally clear. For now, what you are asking is to restore the X50 to it's original state, which is clearly ok.
As Pedah said, you need to get the original ROM images and use the SD bootloader technique to restore the ROM. It's definitely achievable.

Pedah, you have to re-enter the search terms for that search; it expires after a certain amount of time (clicking the link just tells you this). Please give the search terms you used.
Here's one useful link:

All I know is Installing a new version of of WM when you don't have the license is illegal for sure. And for your information I didn't disassemble or reverse engineering anything. I just made customization on an existing WM5 rom for a device that is already running WM5, and all this according this forum rules.
I just wanted to make sure that you were not to blame but your boss if he ask you to do something illegal. As for your problem if you want to solve it you need to find somebody with the same device and to dump the rom like discribed here.
