Album Art In Windows Media Player 10 Mobile

All,

I am getting my album art to display in Windows Media Player (WMP), but even though the images are 500 x 500 pixels, and there is a good size "square" in the Media Player display window for it, my album art is being shrunken and only takes up about a quarter of the space in the square, leaving a big white "box" surrounding it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that WMP likes to resize art to 200 x 200 pixels, but it doesn't do that on my desktop with the same folder.jpg files I'm using on the x50v. I figure since they give such a good sized square for the album art, it should fill it, but alas, no.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Do you have to use Windows Media Player? If not, look into TCPMP (or its commercial cousin CorePlayer), MortPlayer, GSPlayer, or any other media player. I use CorePlayer, and it expands album art to fill the entire screen.

alantdc, thanks for the info. I have been trying out both Media Player and TCPMP version 0.66 (I had some playback problems with MP3 files using TCPMP version 0.72RC1 [slight skipping] so I went to the previous version and it's been working well for me). However, I don't know how to even get album art to show up in TCPMP (either 0.66 or 0.72RC1). Can you tell me how to do this? For WMP, I was including a "folder.jpg" file in each folder representing an album. I'm wondering if there is a way to make this happen in TCPMP, or if I need to start looking into actually embedding the album art directly into the MP3 file using ID3v2 tags. Hmmmm...if you can, please enlighten me. Meanwhile, I will dig around for the other players and see what I can see on them (including the Core Player version of TCPMP).

CorePlayer looks for folder.jpg as well. I think TCPMP and MortPlayer need it embedded in the id3 tags.

Ah, thanks! I'll try out CorePlayer and see if it uses the full size folder.jpg. If it does, that would be worth purchasing for me, as it will save me having to go and embed all my folder.jpg files into the MP3s themselves (at least for now - long term, it's probably the better way to do it anyway.

:P
