Axim X50v + Razr V3t + T-Mobile GPRS
I am trying to link my AximX50v with my RazrV3t so I can use my t-mobile GPRS connection (the $5.99 plan).
Here's my setup:
T-Mobile (Work)
Number: *99#
Username, pass & domain blank
Extra string: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com"
I have tried it both with the proxy: 216.155.165.050:8080, and without.
Both times the PDA + Phone connect, phone dials, the new icon appears right next to my signal bar, along with the BT icon, but PocketIE fails. With the proxy on, it gets stuck at "locating" then fails with: The page could not be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost (The two devices still show as connected, BT lights blinking & all). If I turn the proxy off, it gets stuck at "Opening", and either fails with: The page could not be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost; Or: Error 502 bad request
The server could not resolve your request for url: /mobile/pocketpc (I was texting using the Dell link on the main PocketIE Axim page).
Any ideas?
Thanks!

MatthewH12, Im not trying to be funny/insulting but why are you using GPRS? GPRS is very slow in comparison to a lot of other Wireless broadband services.

I use WiFi normally, but if I'm out on the road, GPRS is $6 on my T-Mobile plan, laptop connect cards, are like $50/mo, and thats too far out of my price range.

Port 80 sticks at "Opening", then i get the error 502 again. Port 8080 sticks at "Locating" then "Page could not be displayed or downloaded".
(Web works fine on my phone, with both the built in browser, and Opera Mini.)
Weird...

I use WiFi normally, but if I'm out on the road, GPRS is only $6 on my T-Mobile plan. $200 for a laptop connect card and $50/mo for the service is too far out of my price range.

it's $19.99 with voice now
if you use WinLive, you need this
I have 0 problem using $19.99 internet, and it's full service, no proxy required (except you access t-zones portal)
to get the most of it, V3t is too lacking, you need EDGE phone at least (currently T639 is the best bet because it supports AWS 3G)
w490 or T629 are the best bet, but go for T639 where is available

Even so, i may only use it, once in a blue moon. Hence why I was hoping to get it to work over GPRS.

Just like Speedy said, why are you using GPRS? No offense, but that's crap in a can. iPhones use it, and it's horribly slow.
However, T-Mobile USA says it is supposed to be as fast as a regular modem (up to 56.6kbps). Is there a difference than what you normally get? I believe you said that you don't use GPRS unless you have it, correct?
I would try connecting to Orange, and if that doesn't work call T-Mobile to see if you can connect to CSD and HSCSD. It's not as reliable (it's known to kick people off) but it's way faster than GPRS. With my experience, I would use w490. I've never had an issue with it.
