I picked up a Kingston 4 GB Class 4 SDHC card at MicroCenter today for $29.99. It goes on sale for $27.99 tomorrow. The card works great so far.

I have tested it thanks to mphayvanh as he generously gave me his 8 Gb SDHC.
It reconize the card but only as a 4 GB, so I believe with this driver you'll be able to use SDHC up to 4 Gb.
thanks
it works right away on my HX2495
I can forget new HP for time being

instruction:
unzip the file, copy it to memory card (or my documents), and run it down in your pda
after restarting, it should read SD-HC
tested with 4GB miniSD-HC and a 4GB microSD-HC (both with adaptor of course), it just works, nothing else
it should work with ANY WM5 device (my HX2495)
now I can settle with 16GB SD-HC for whooping 32GB of storage!!! (I have 16GB CF already)

I don't see that this driver adds much functionality. Please enlighten me. :)
VGA video files takes good amount of space, as well as my audio files (160-192k ogg files)
more storage=better always
btw, this thread should be put sticky, because it'll help millions of WM5 devices, not limited to Axims

If I understand things correctly, you can load up a greater-than-4GB card on your PC, and your WM device will be able to access all the files on it, but WM recognizes the card as 4GB.

What if you put files on the card from your device? Will it stop at 4GB? This is an important concern for me if I am going to invest in an 8 or 16GB card. I use Windows Media Player to sync my music library to the SD card in my Axim. Since I have subscription music, the card must be in the Axim because the Axim is a subscription-compatible player. I cannot copy subscription music to a storage card in my computer's card reader. If I have an 8GB SDHC in my Axim, will it show up as 8GB to Windows Media Player?

Kosmicken,

No it will not. The PC recognize and can read files in the card that is over the 4GB limit--but your Axim will STOP reading the files you put in after the limit.

Just to make it clear--I have 3.6 GB of files right now in my 8GB card. My Axim can read ALL files right now. But anything I ADD from this point forward it will NOT read it. Think of it as a hidden storage area after this point. It can be seen and view from your Axim and PC, but it won't let you do anything with it except on a PC. Hopes this helps. It's a small step forward but a huge accomplishment over Dells original ROM.

Filled up my Class 4 OCZ 8GB SDHC card and all files work.
Unless I'm missing something, these users say they can see all files on the card when used on the Axim. Is this correct?

On a related note...this thread is the first time I have ever heard of different class cards. What's that all about? (Feel free to provide a link if it's already clearly explained elsewhere.)

They can see it--I can see all my files, but I bet you they can't run every file on the card. I tried and it didn't work for me. I was premature to report files were all working on mine but after a close examination, only certain files (it depends on how they occupy the the mem blocks) can be read.

BTW-Not sure how the Classes of SDHC (2,4,6) plays in the readibility of cards. Can someone else please confirm compatibility over 4 GB with a Class 4 as quoted by Kosmicken above? Mine is a Samsung OEM 8GB Class 2 (first SDHC Card in the market and only 4GB is recognized).

I've posted this elsewhere, but just an FYI. I too think the driver is great but it broke OCN6 which is SD based. I had to revert to the stock driver.

Tried on Acer N300

I just installed the cab file on my Acer N300 with WM5 and it read my 4gb sdhc card with absolutely NO problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Anyone know if it works with 8gb?

I've downloaded your zip file but can't seem to get my Axim to recognize my sdhc 4 gb sandisk card.

What am I missing?
The only thing that seems odd is the _setup.xml extension.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
