I found this driver (on XDA DEV) that you can install to your x51v running the original aku 2.3.1 rom (ie A12 for english).
I have tested it thanks to mphayvanh as he generously gave me his 8 Gb SDHC.
It reconize the card but only as a 4 GB, so I believe with this driver you'll be able to use SDHC up to 4 Gb.
Nice! Can you get a SDHC driver for the x50 (mid) A02 rom? I wonder, how much programming and configuration does it take to make a hardware driver for Windows Mobile?
I don't understand why anyone would want to install this driver to their pocket pc, when you can find 4 GB SD cards that work fine in pocket pcs. Now if the driver allowed you to use 8 GB SDHC cards, that'd be great!
I don't see that this driver adds much functionality. Please enlighten me. :)

I tried a different driver someone posted to no avail, had to restore, and thought I thoroughly search xda-developers but couldn't find anything. This driver works fine. As to why you'd want it? I'm glad to finally not be limited to non SDHC cards. Sometimes there are price differences and there have been others that have reported in the 3.5.2 ROM that even though 8GB cards are reported as 4GB, all space and files are available. I'll have to get an 8GB card to verify.
Great news for WM5 users! Yes, adding more capabilities and not limiting to a SD Card-only option is great for folks that use their SD or SDHC Cards on more than ONE device (Julie).

Thanks, that makes sense to me.

I downloaded the file and so far haven't tested an SDHC card yet, but the pocket pc seems to be working just fine with a regular SD card. I'll try to get an SDHC this weekend.
Tried the driver on my X50v with WM5 A02 and it works, recognizes 8GB SDHC as 4GB. I'll try and fill up the SDHC card and see if I can access all files.
I wonder if this will work on wm2003se?
I just installed it and it worked fine, except it gave me the error saying it was designed for an earlier version of wm.
I don't have a sdhc card to test it with.
EDIT: It makes wm2003se unable to see regular sd. But it works fine after an uninstall. If this did work with sdhc on 2003se, then all u would have to do is get something to turn it on when u want to use a sdhc card and turn it off to use a regular one.
Hate to bump the thread like this, however for those looking for a 4gb SDHC card, Radioshack has a sale for like 45 dollars where you get the card and the micromate reader too. Inwhich, it works on axim x51 since im using this card for music :D
