New Axim User Loading Software

How do I load software that is meant for a regular computer onto my Axim. I contacted the software company and they told me it would run on an Axim, but i needed a way to load it.
I tried to load it from a CD Rom, but when I hit the browse button to find the Axim it did not show up as an option. It only gave me a c drive option.

Software that runs on your desktop or laptop will NOT run on your
Axim as a rule.To load software to the Axim you would use Activesync
program in conjunction with your desktop/laptop,therefore you require
the Axim cradle/USB connection.
If you are looking for software try any of the many PPC freeware sites
such as PDAGOLD.COM they may have what you nned for free or shareware.

What a joke! It sounds like the vendor just wanted to get off the phone! I have never heard of any software package that is designed for a computer that will also run on a pocket pc. The way to load it would be to compile it to run under windows mobile - something you do not have the means to do. Have you checked to see if there is a windows mobile version of the software?
