Question Inserting SD Flash locks Axim X50v up

Hi guys

I bought a 2nd hand Dell Axim X50v and when I insert SD Flash into it, even SD Flash from another X50v, it simply locks up the entire PDA and I have to press the reset button on the back.

I have tried several types of SD Flash, and they all have the same effect.

I have tried restarting the X50v with the SD flash already inserted and that still causes a lockup as soon as I press the start button or try to run any programs.

Booting up into the SD bootloader also fails, and causes the X50v to refuse to respond, and the Axim has to be reset with the SD Flash removed.

Compact Flash cards work fine though.

Here are the other details of the device from the About Window & System Information

Quote:
Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0
OS 5.1.195 (Build 14957.2.3.1)

Model: Dell Axim X50v
Processor Type: Intel PXA270
Processor Speed: 624MHz
RAM Size: 64MB
ROM Size: 128MB
ROM Version: A02 (12150600)
Language: English

Thanks in advance for any help

Whisper, I uploaded Dell's rollback to WM2003SE to the rapidshare link below if you want it. Remove the ".saf.html" before running it. (This file was provided free by Dell, so I presume it's okay to post it.,)

Thanks cmagdanz

I seem to be working my way around the problems of not having access to an SD Card, so the main thing I cannot do currently is to change WM versions at will, or at least thats my understanding.

Also most instructions about changing Windows versions seem to revolve around using an SD Card, and currently my Axim X50v works, so I'm not 100% sure about doing this without a way to use the SD bootloader.
