whats up boys and girls, new to the site and new to the world of PDAs. The reason I bought this PDA was to use it for golfing. I'm going to get a bluetooth GPS receiver and install the intelligolf sofware. This brings me to my question, what receiver should I purchase? The more accurate it is, the more money I will spend :)
second question, what else can I do with this PDA? I will try the wifi at work, that should be fun but there much be so many more things that can be done, that this can be used for :) Any suggestions, any pointers?
Well with the X51v you have a world class media player on your hands. You might want to cruise over to the multimedia forum to get some tips on adding and playing content on your devicce.
I tried golfing once. I managed to hit a pole on the fence that was protecting the clubhouse from duffers like me and have the ball land 20 feet behind me. As you can imagine I lost intrest in the game pretty fast after that.

For more GPS information, look in the GPS forum. It's under the "Hardware" forum category. There are some good GPS programs for golf there. But as KPDuty says, don't hold folks up. Use it as you approach the ball, not when you get there. For the average duffer, that is plenty accurate enough.
I've used it before. It actually speeds up the game for you. YOu don't have to pace out yardages. You just looked at your PDA and the yardage is there, no bottons to press. Any info you want to add, you can add it when you get to the next tee box. If you want to track your shots per club, I think it would ad maybe 5 minutes to the total round but you get that back by not trying to figure out the yardage :)
If you are going to get the GPS, you might as well get the Iguidance software combo package, Great mapping software, costs about $150-200. iNav - iGuidance Software & GPS Bundle Product Page with the bt GPS
Pocket Informant vastly improves upon the functionality of Pocket Outlook to match and exceed what's available even with the desktop Outlook while keeping complete and uncompromising compatibility with Outlook. 5 Calendar Views, Notes, Tasks, Contacts, Journal, and so much more with an awesom to use interface.

Thanks for all the great info guys. I am pimping my axim out as we speak. Anyone know if a good diet program to put on here? something to log my daily calorie intake? I can totally see myself getting addicted to this thing! Also, that receiver posted obove looks nice but I don't really need anything that fance with navigation software :) It will not be used for navigation as I don't drive :) ANything cheaper that is accurate?
Do they do bluetooth GPS golf balls yet? One that'd just hook up to your PDA whenever it's within range and tell said PDA the distance since last hookup? ;)
