Choppy Audio Playback X51V

I have downloaded some audio tracks from iTunes media player. The files were originally from some of my CDs. After downloading the files to the X51V, I get choppy playback using the Windows Media Player on the PDA. Sounds like it's skipping every few seconds. The files sound fine when I play them on my laptop.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Will

Possible issue with the sample rate? I don't use iTunes, but I'm sure you can choose the bit rate at which the audio files are encoded. Try several different bit rates with the same track and see if that helps.

Any other apps running while WMP is playing?

Are the audio files stored on internal mem or on a card?

Good luck,
J

Sounds to me like a buffering problem. I've not tried it on a PDA yet (still waiting for mine to arrive) but I've had the same problem with computers before.

As already stated above, check that you've got plenty of ram free. You might also want to look deeper into the buffer settings and if possible, increase the buffer size a bit.

Shouldn't matter where the files are stored - the read speed is going to be faster than the amount of data needed per second...
