SDHC Fix for Axim

This makes SDHC Cards work with the x51v (Originally designed for HTC I think...)
I tested it on an Axim x51v with A06 Rom and Sandisk 4GB SDHC Card, but it should work with all Roms and SDHC Cards.

They said the fix was originally designed for a HTC. That would mean it more than likely originated from a phone ROM which probably has an OS of WM6. I do know that it was reported on the xda developers site successful recognizability of a 16GB SDHC class 6 card. The ROM reported installed on that unit was WM6 A03 if memory serves me correctly.

Don't know if this is the same file but the one contained in this link works fine on my x51v running ROM A12.

I have seen reports from other users that it works fine on the rx4915. Try it and see for yourself. If it doesn't work, you can always uninstall it.

Has anyone tried this fix with a larger SDHC card (16Gb)? I'm using WM6.1 atm which obviously works with SDHC but in case I end up back on wm5 will this work?

Works fine with my X51V running WM6 and my 8GB SDHC card

If you are using WM5 that SDHC program will only work up to 4GB. I tried an 8GB SDHC card and my device only recognized around only 4GB of the 8GB with WM5. If you are using a WM6 ROM or above, than the ROM is probably built to support all SDHC Cards without having to install the SDHC program.

So if you put the file on the device a card like this one selling on newegg: Kingston 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) will work on an X51V with WM 5 ? Do SDHC cards still fit in the SD slot? Does a card like that only work with video files?

An SDHC card fits into a SD slot.
You would have to install the SDHC fix since you are using WM5.
The Kingston SDHC should read only as 4GB on your x51v.

The "Fix" only allows you to use 4gig of the card, in WM5.

What speed does the X51V transfer at? I mean would a Class 4 or 6 card transfer data faster than a class 2, or will the axim limit the speed? Would a card that plugs into a usb adapter transfer faster?

Do different flash memory cards use different amounts of battery power? A kingston brand one on newegg claims "Extends battery life, reduces e-waste".
