No matter what I press (Power + reset or Wireless + Power + reset) I get the reboot screen which gets frozen close to the end. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
I guess you have the same problem I have -- you got too greedy, and managed to flash the wrong version for your hardware. :-)

I successfully upgraded to WM5 A01 with the Dell disc, and then thought "hey I should upgrade to the latest version". So I grabbed a RAR with the A02 bootloader and WM5 image... but it was for the MID and I have the LOW. This leads to the exact behaviour you are describing, loading stops at 80%.

Soo now I am stuck :-( I have the A02 ROM in Dell format (AximX50_A_WM5_A02EN.IMG in the R143810 package), but can't get the converter program for nb0 format to work. And I have the A01 ROM nb0 but not the boot loader for this :-)

I guess I need a A01 boot loader in nb0, or the A02 WM5 LOW nb0. Anyone sitting on it? :-)

So I solved it! Steps (note this is for X50 LOW):

1) Download the WM2003 pack (AximX50_WM2k3_A05_EN.rar)
2) Copy all four files to the card
3) Rename DiMa_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0 to WM50_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0 (just change the first four letters)
4) Do likewise with the .crc file
5) Boot X50. If you cannot get to the reflashing screen, try entering the diagnostic screen first and from there reset to reflashing screen.
6) Only the boot loader ROM should be visible. Flash it.
7) When the device says it's ready, immediately power+wireless+reset again to enter flash screen.
8) Only the OS ROM should be visible. Flash it.
9) Do a hard reset when it's done. If you only get a white screen after boot, try entering diagnostics mode, run it through, then hard reset again.
10) You should now be where you started, with WM2003 installed. Now you can try using the Dell utility to flash WM5 again.

Edit: Now running WM5 A02 on X50 LOW after reflash with Dell utility + R143810 :-) The question now is, do I really want to run WM5 ;-) LOL!

Worried Terrible mistake!

Hi all...
I did a terrible mistake, maybe you can help me:

I was tring to update x50low from wm2003se to wm5.

I downloaded the WM50_K_A02_X50_WM5_ENG.nb0 with correct crc and put it on my SD.
Then I renamed the file like this: DiMa_K_A02_X50_WM5_ENG.nb0
Now the BIG mistake: I create a copy of this file and rename it in DiMa_B_A02_X50_WM5_ENG.nb0 (Of course I didn't understand the correct procedure)
so, before launching the wireless+power+reset sequence on My SD the bootloader file was not correct and same as the OS file. :rolling:

The updating procedures start and goes to end (about 5 minutes) without errors (strange but true) with a final message like: "succesful image flash, please reset your device".

After the reset my Axim won't power on (this is not strange ).

I tried the rec+power+reset sequence > nothing happens
I tried the wireless+power+reset sequence > nothing happens

So My Axim is definitly dead. Any other suggestion? Have I got a hi-tech paperweight?

Thank you in advance

Did you check the lock switch?
Did you try to power it up in the cradle?

Try to access the bootloader again.

If those didn't work; I'm sorry, you have a truly bricked Axim...

Thank you johnhu_2005, lock switch was ok and I don't have a cradle (only usb cable, but nothing happens with and without).

Anyway, I was asking me if there are other buttons combinations to try or a way to reanimate (power on) via activesync.

Thank you!

That is your problem. USB cable does not provide enough "oomph" to power up a dead Axim. Your battery might have ran out. Try to borrow or buy a cradle or AC adapter and power up your Axim when connected to AC power.

Personally, I only have the WM5 A01 for x50 low. If you need it, I can upload it for you.

Same here.. I desperately need either the bootloader and rom for WM2003 or the A02 Rom for WM5. I use this ppc for my business and it is mission critical!

I did a hard reset because I was having issues, and then it would only stick on the dell screen at about 80%

Unfortunately, my previous posts states that I do not have either ROMs. To my knowledge, there is none uploaded for x50 low bootloader (The only one I have is for x51) nor A02 English.

Your only choice would be to get a new device.

Had a bricked x50 low (sob)
Did the bootloader (Yes! It worked)
Flashed the rom (Booyah!)
Got the white screen (sniff)
Did the diagnostic (all OK)
Got to the align screen (running sloooow at first)
Cut/Paste demo (fast!)
Time (Yes! Yes!)
Everything good! Now lets install the 2 apps I run.
ROCK & ROLL! Everything is working perfect!
One million thanks to you, man!
