Easier way to recover your X50 after you bricked it+premade nb0 files

hi !
i am in 2003 with a05 rom !
i have dell axim x50 windows mobile 5 CD !
Now i need Wm5 Bootloader to upgrade !
( i can not update with cable cause i dont have cardle or usb )
Could you send me WM 5 Bootloader a01 & a02 ??
and tell me how extract bootloader from IMG ?

I cannot share the contents of the upgrade disk, as I think it violates MobilitySite's warez rules.

But I can tell you how to extract/convert an .img to an .nb0 and .crc.
Find your .img file and then download this: IMG2NB0F.exe - Windows Live. (It's hosted by me, don't worry, no malware).
Browse to the .img and press "DO". It will convert the .img to a .nb0.

Now, you need a .crc:
Download this: CRC_calc.rar - Windows Live. Press the left button (I can't read the buttons, I don't know if you can) and browse to your .nbo (NOT IMG) file. It will give you a .crc.

Now the name of the .crc is important. Open up notepad. Copy the crc given to you and type/paste it onto Notepad (It should be 8 digits/letters). Now, look at your .nb0 file.

It should be blahblah.nb0.
Now use the same file name but change it to blahblah_nb0.crc.

For example (DO NOT use this):
My file name is DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A05EN.nb0
My crc would be called DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A05EN_nb0.crc

Now you have a .nb0 and a .crc ready to go. BACKUP EVERYTHING. Because your device will be returned to manufacture condition first. So backup all data and get a list of all programs installed. Pop the two files onto a blank SD card (formatted FAT).

Flash it. If you don't know how to flash, be sure to ask us.

its not working ! after pressing Do it creates a file with 0 Byte & nothing Else ! Happen ( also no massage )

If you are using Vista, try running it "Run as Administrator". Also, you might NOT want to move the mouse after you press "DO". It takes about 10 seconds for it to do it's magic.

Which version of imgtonb0 are you using? There were 2 versions with the first version working with the X50 series roms and the second version not. The first version asks for the img file, length, and output file. You can find the length values in a thread from Makuu telling you how to unbrick your X51. The second version only asks for the img file, and outputs a 0 byte file if you choose a X50 series rom. I will try to get the 1st version uploaded in the next few days.

Img to NB0 ( first Version ) worked for me but i dont know Rom Length !
( how to find rom Length ?? )
I tried 2 value which was provided by Makuu ! ( i think they are only for x51 not x50 )
with one i get 39.7 Mb File & with another i get 40 Mb File ( .nb0 ) !

Which rom are you trying to use with it? If you;re using the WM5 A01 rom, you have aku 1.1. If you're using the WM5 A02 rom, you have aku 2.3(.1). Makuu has posted the correct lengths because I've tried it myself (how else did I get the WM5 roms for this thread?).

Hi im a total noob to the dell axim x50 scene i tried to upgrade without reading from windows mobile 5 to the mobile 6 on the x50v well anyway it just blacked screened so i read this post and tried to restore but it only loads to 80% any help would be greatful

well i would like to get to your new version 5 i was on five then i did your restore and thats it do i need to install mobile 5 again to make it work if so i havnt got windows mobile 5 can i get it easy read a few earlier posts which sounded like the same problem as me and they got it sorted

I believe that WM5 A02 ROM would do if your re-flash it: Download X50_mid_WM5_A02.rar, upload your files and earn money..

I assume you know how to flash, I'll leave that up to you.
