I just switched the Axim on and the power information said that the backup battery was "normal" and there was 80% life in the main battery (considering I charged the main battery on the cradle, I guess that's why - it wasn't charged with just the Axim sitting on the cradle). This definitely makes me think that as this is the same when it's in the car charger cradle, that something has happened to the connector pins on the Axim itself....can these be repaired??
Many thanks.

I have the exact same problem as you. :(
I am 100% certain that it is a loose / faulty connection within the charge/activesync connector on the bottom of my X50V.
I have tried several different adapters and cradles with my X50V (which I know are all working fine), and they all had trouble getting the X50V power button to light up (orange/green).
The X50V charging light comes on intermittently when I jiggle these adapters while they are plugged into the X50V bottom connector.
Sometimes I can get the adapter to maintain a solid charging light ... and other times I can't. I just have to continue moving and jiggling the adapter until it finds just the right position to get the charge light to go on, and then hope it remains on.
I read somewhere that many people who use their X50V with a Compact Flash GPS adapter have experienced this bottom connector breaking, which I believe was the case with mine. I purchased mine used, and the previous owner used it with a CF GPS.
I guess if the X50V is held sideways (landscape mode) and has a charging adapter plugged in to charge it, the sideways pull of the charging adapter might cause the bottom connector to break or detach from the motherboard.
Bernard .... if you are still reading this thread, do you have any idea how difficult it would be to replace or fix this bottom connector myself?
I watched your entire video (which was great :approve:), but I couldn't tell how this bottom connector is attached to the motherboard?
I know PPC Techs will do it for $60 + shipping, but if I could replace it myself, I'd rather go that route.
Thanks for your help !!! :)
