Aximsiteactivesyncicon HELP NEEDED: ActiveSync, Bluesoleil and the broadcom stack

Please help.. I run out of patience, joy and motivation to live!! So what is happening..

1) For some unknown to me reason my AXIM ( x51v )won't sync anymore. The computer sees the Axim device, but Active Sync wont sync it ( it doesn't even try to "connect" )

2) I decided to screw USB craddle connection and use Bluetooth.
3) I have newest BlueSoleil BT software ( 5.0.5.178 ) and the right dongle.
4) Axim has the Broadcom Stack 1.7.1 Build 3400

- Bluesoleil shows COM3 and COM4 accepting incoming connections.
- Active Sync (4.5 ) is set up "Allow connections to one of the following: COM3"
- I am going trough a wizard with the Broadcom ( New Shortcut > Active Sync )

Then when I connect the Active Sync is "connecting" but then it shows that it cannot connect.

My firewall is off. My AV is off.
HELP! I cannot sync via USB or via BT. Does anyone have a fool-proof guide to make this damn thing work ? I don't want to shoot myself, but I will be forced to do so, if I cannot get it to work!!

I had the same thing happen to me once. I absolutely hated it. Anyway, I can't really help you with bluetooth syncing, but I can help you get your axim to sync via usb. Before you try anything, be sure to backup your precious pim data and synced files on your computer and axim! Once you have done that, try deleting the partnership on the computer and axim and try syncing again. If this doesn't work, uninstall Activesync 4.5 and install Activesync 4.2 (download it from MS website). Create a partnership and you should be able to sync via usb. When you boot up your computer in the future, if Activesync doesn't start up like it's supposed to (check system tray), open up the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) and go to processes. Kill the processes named "WCESMGR.exe", "wcescomm.exe" and "rapimgr.exe". Close the task manager and click the MS Activesync shortcut and it should start up (also soft reset axim for good measure).

If you have any problem or if you still have problems, feel free to post or send me a pm.

thanks for help, but none of this worked ( i did it before ). I was mad so I reformat ( hard reset ) the device and treated it with 'football'.

However talking abou soccer here is illegal, so I will skip to the part where I say, everything is working, even better than before.

thanks for input.

Try this website: Syncing via Bluetooth with Windows Mobile 5.0 (Axim X51 series)

Helped me, mine syncs, no problem.

Now, one thing to note, is that if I've used my BT GPS or haven't synced in a little while, I have to tell it to connect several times (it'll fail for the first few, and then finally connect...also sometimes I have to go into Ctrl-Alt-Del and shut down ActiveSync and then restart it, but usually it works no problem)

Bluetooth sync

I have a changed my factory Dell Bluetooth stack to the Widcomm version 1.7.1. With old stack I could sync via bluetooth, now with Widcomm I can no longer sync. My laptopreads a Toshiba stack version 4 and has an icon for Bluetooth Local Com. I tried every com listed none would sync any ideas?
