Experimental WM5 A03 Rom for X50(mid)

I made an experimental rom for people here at aximsite to play around with for a while until I finish updating the aku to 3.5.2. This rom is based on WM5 A02 rom with a few added speed tweaks. This rom is stable from my experiences.

If you need MSN Messenger functionality, stick with Windows Live Messenger Mobile (download it at http://www.drivehq.com/web/steven855/Install_WLM.exe).

Download Link: Download X50_mid_WM5_X03.rar, upload your files and earn money.

How to flash
Step 1: Make sure you flashed the WM5 A02 rom. If not, flash it before you start.
Step 2: Extract files to any folder using Winrar
Step 3: Go to the folder where you extrated the files in the RAR archive
Step 4: Find the 2 files that have X50 in the filename (should be 1 (has a filename like WM50_K_A03_X50_WM5_ENG) .nb0 file and (same naming conventions) 1 .crc file) and transfer them to the SD Card
Step 5: Take SD Card out of SD Card reader and put it in the axim
Step 6: Hold the power button and the wireless button at the same time, and quickly tap the soft reset button (little hole on back of axim near DELL logo and press it with something like a pencil or pen) 2 or 3 times
Step 6a: Watch screen for SD Card loader (should see the hard reset screen, but wait a few seconds until it shows up)
Step 7: choose the A03 rom image and follow any on-screen directions
Step 8: enjoy your axim with the new (experimental) rom image


Note: If you decide you do not like this rom, please use my sticky "http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...nb0-files.html" to go back to WM5 A02 rom (and from there, downgrade to WM2003 SE if you must).

Benardm, please test this rom and confirm that this rom is faster than Dell's A02 rom and that its worth to download and try it.

The download is usually free, but the popularity of the WM 5 roms must have made me overdo my bandwith limit. If anyone knows of a great file hosting/storage site (that's free) I can store the roms on, let me know via pm. I would like to set up some mirrors in case I ever overdo my bandwith limit on the main site again.

Meanwhile, rom with updated aku is almost finished. However some modules have been giving me some trouble. Those modules are Device.exe, Filesys.exe, and osax0.dll (or something like that). If Makuu or any other rom builders can give me a hand to fix these dll addresses, let me know so I can finally finish this.
