Power light flashes green/amber power problems

My X50v (ROM A05) recently started having odd power problems.

1) When I dock it the power light alternates between amber and green while flashing. I've never seen it do that in 5 years.
2) When I dock it it will say its charging until it reaches 100%. Then when I take it off it will drop down to about 40% power.
3) If the battery goes down to 0%, when I dock it it doesn't charge even though the amber light comes on.
4) If I take the battery out and put it in the back of the docking station to charge it charges up just fine and works well.

I've done the following...
1) I've switched the battery with my wife's X50v and the problem stayed with my machine.
2) I have two docking stations (one at home, one at work) and both show this problem.

So, I'm thinking I may have one of the following issues...
1) Some sort of software error that has developed???? I've thought about reimaging it but don't want to do that unless I have to
2) Some sort of problem in the charging circutry of the device itself.

Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone service these???

Like another post on the forum today it could be the connecter
on your Axim is worn/damaged/bent as when you charge in back of
docking station these aren't used.
I would hazard a guess your Axim needs repairs to cradle socket.
