Cannot execute \Windows\wcshlp.exe

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to this site but have received much help already. I'm getting a Notification Error when I turn on my Dell Axim x50v: "Cannot execute \Windows\wcshlp.exe" I backed up everything to SD card then did a hard reset...restored everything and still get the Notification Error. My pocket pc seems to be working fine but its annoying getting this message every time I turn it on. What suggestions do you have. Thanks for helping me out -Chuck

Did you perform a restore after your hard reset? If so, then you probably restored the issue that is causing this message.

Had you recently uninstalled some software right before you started getting this message?

Go to the \Windows\Startup folder and look for a shortcut that could be causing this message

Thanks for the help. Yes I did remove some software I'd recently installed. I'm at the \Windows\Startup folder but don't know what to look for. I see BTTrayCE, odClientCeAut, potlook, and SplashV. What do you suggest? Thanks

Is that all you see in this folder? The BTTrayCE and poutlook shortcuts are okay and not the ones causing your problem.

What software did you uninstall? I am not familiar with odClientCeAut and i think SplashV might have something to do with some Splash ID software you might be running. But don't you have anything else in that folder?

Am I doing this right? I opened File Explorer...Windows then StartUp...I only have these four things in this folder. The software was from freewarepocketpc.net...it was a universal remote (remotecontrol II version 212 Pocketgear.zip) Thanks

Maybe you should try either Sktools or Memmaid. They are not free but you can download a free trial.

You could try moving the odClientCeAut and the SplashV shortcuts out of the \Windows\Startup folder and see if this resolves this issue.

@Julie: FYI, odClientCeAut is Odyssey Client's auto-start. It can be safely removed. SplashV is the tutorial you get when you hard-reset your Axim. That can also be safely disabled/removed.

@cbalik: wcshlp.exe errors are generally Bluetooth Audio errors (as dharris982 said) or a Remote control app on your Axim.

odClientCeAut and the SplashV shortcuts are legitimate files in your Startup folder for WM200;

Yes, they are legitimate. But some of us do not have use for it.
