A12 ROM Windows Media Player 10 Mobile v10.2 better than newer v10.3

on Axim X51v with A12 ROM, I like the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. I think that is Version 10.2. It plays back streaming Windows Media video nicely. Seems to me, there were no dropped frames, so there was no jerky, paused video. It did, at times, display distorted, as the image "broke up". Not sure how to describe it, but the image would turn to little squares, but under neath those squares, the moving images in the video could be seen - then it would clear up.

The Windows Media Player 10 Mobile Version 10.3, the newer one included with WM6, the image is crystal clear all times - none of those little squares. But there is a lot of jerking and pausing during playback. I think that means frames are dropped.

I preferred the A12 ROM Streaming Windows Media Video playback. I'd rather see a poorer image with out lost frames, than a beautiful image with lots of jerks.

You might get better results using tcpmp for free or you could get Coreplayer both offer almost unlimited file playback support. (in the ppc world) e.g. avi. mp3., m4a., wmv., wma., he-aac., ogg. and mov to name a few.

PS: Only tcpmp supports fla. (flash videos) currently. Tcpmp doesn't suport He-aac if my memory serves me well.

Yes, I get better results with TCPMP v0.72 RC1. At least the audio and video are in sync. With Window Media Player 10.3 Mobile the audio sounds like a dubbed in low budget 70s Martial Arts film - Fists of Fury. A guy stops talking, but his lips are still moving. I'm having Fits of Fury with this WM6 media player. I'm playing a file like this:

Windows Media Video 9

Windows Media Audio 9.2
32 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo 1-pass CBR

500 x 376

360 Kbps

1.33:1
